Remodeling bathrooms in the Gastonia–Lincolnton corridor
West of the Catawba River the housing story is textiles and furniture. Gastonia, Cherryville, Bessemer City and Kings Mountain grew up around mills, and thousands of those compact four-square and bungalow-style houses are still occupied — usually with one bathroom, roughly 40 square feet, a tub jammed under a window, and plaster or 1950s wall tile hiding original cast-iron waste piping. North through Lincolnton, Newton, Conover and Hickory the mix shifts to furniture-town neighborhoods and post-war brick ranches, plus a growing band of newer construction pulled east toward Lake Norman.
That combination means our crews here work in two very different modes on the same week. In a 1930s mill house the job is a careful rebuild: replace the waste line, level a floor that has settled toward the exterior wall, insulate an uninsulated exterior bathroom wall, and fit a full-size shower into a footprint that never had one. In a 2005 Denver or east Hickory home it is a design job: pull the corner soaking tub and build a 60-by-42 tiled shower with a bench.
This area spans several small jurisdictions — the City of Gastonia, Lincoln County, Catawba County, the City of Hickory and Cleveland County. Permit requirements vary by project and jurisdiction, and BathPeak will explain any required permits or inspections during the project planning process. We also quote well and septic properties with the water system in mind rather than assuming municipal service.
